Iran nuclear talks

Amid reports that Tehran and Washington will hold nuclear talks, Iran’s president says he has ordered the ministry of foreign affairs to pursue fair and equitable negotiations. In a post on his X social media account, Masoud Pezeshkian said the negotiations shall be conducted within the framework of Iran’s national interests. The President added that the talks, free from threats and unreasonable expectations, should be guided by the principles of dignity, prudence and expediency. Separately, a senior adviser to the leader of the Islamic Revolution said Tehran will show flexibility if other parties offer concessions in return. Ali Shamkhani reaffirmed that Iran will NOT transfer its enriched uranium to any other country, as there is no need for doing so. Shamkhani emphasized that Iran has never sought to produce nuclear weapons, citing Ayatollah Khamenei's religious decree that forbids development of such weapons. Over the past days, Iranian officials have said that the country welcomes fair and equitable negotiations, while rejecting dictates and threats.

Israel banning aid NGOS

An international charity organization has warned that Israel's ban on its humanitarian operations in Gaza will lead to deeper catastrophe for the Palestinian territory's people. Doctors Without Borders’ comment came after Israel announced on Sunday that it was terminating all its activities in Gaza and the occupied West Bank as of March the first. The regime claimed that MSF has failed to provide a list of its Palestinian staff. MSF condemned the regime’s move as a pretext to restrict humanitarian aid entry into Gaza and the West Bank at the most critical time for Palestinians. It stressed that cessation of the organization’s operations will be catastrophic for the people of Gaza and the West Bank. MSF emphasized that without independent humanitarian organizations in Gaza, an already "catastrophic" situation "can only get worse." Israel announced in December that it would bar 37 aid organizations, including MSF, from working in Gaza; a move widely condemned by international NGOs and the United Nations.

Demanding Maduro release

Hundreds of Venezuelans have taken to the streets of Caracas to show support for the ruling party and to demand the release of President Nicolas Maduro. Demonstrators carried Venezuelan flags and photos of Maduro, chanting pro-government slogans. The rally was held as Venezuela’s acting president, Delcy Rodriguez, met with the charge d'affaires of the U-S-Venezuela Affairs Unit in Caracas on Monday. Rodriguez called the US aggression against Caracas in early January, a serious violation of international law. She noted that the government’s priority is preserving national stability. The attacks on Venezuela were coupled with the abduction of Maduro who’s now being held in a New York jail, awaiting trial on drug-trafficking charges. Maduro has denied any wrongdoing.
