Iran US warning
The leader of the Islamic Revolution says the implementation of Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz and the destruction of the US bases in the region during the recent war amounted to perseverance against the global arrogance on a regional scale. Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei referred to the destruction of the US bases and Iran’s control over Hormuz as a sign of strength. He said that the indication of power, together with unity among the regional resistance, signal the emergence of a new global order and a brighter future for the front of the truth. The leader warned that any renewed aggression against the country will be met with a response with a larger scale. Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks on the occasion of the national day of fight against the global arrogance. He underlined that achieving absolute deterrence requires continuing the strategy of 'the stronger Iran through comprehensive progress in all fields'. The leader noted that making concessions to the US won’t make it abandon its hostility toward the Iranian nation. He said even the slightest inclination toward capitulation would embolden the enemy to push for its excessive demands and further acts of aggression.
Fight against global arrogance
Iranians have held nationwide rallies on the occasion of the national day of fight against the global arrogance. The occasion is actually the anniversary of the seizure of the U-S embassy by Iranian students in November 1979, months after the victory of the Islamic Revolution. Students were among those marching in the streets of Tehran toward the former US embassy, known as the Den of Espionage. Participants held flags of Iran, chanting slogans against the US. Various other cities including Mashhad, Qom, Isfahan, and Hamedan saw similar rallies, with demonstrators carrying signs in condemnation of the US crimes against the Iranian nation in the recent war. They stressed they are adamant in standing up to any form of domination and won’t back down on the principles of the Islamic Revolution.
Democrats win control of Congress
Turning now to the US midterms; Democrats have gained full control of the Congress in the 2026 elections. They won the control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Democrats flipped seats in Texas, South Carolina, Iowa and more. The results are seen as a stunning rebuke to President Donald Trump and a nationwide verdict on his turbulent second term. This as Americans have been discontented over costs of living, tariffs and the US war on Iran. According to exit poll results, 74 percent of voters called the war a crucial or major factor in their vote, while 62 percent said using force was a wrong decision.
