Human rights activist Firas al-Najim says Iran’s retaliatory strikes during previous rounds of US-Israeli aggression exposed the vulnerability of American military assets across West Asia and challenged Washington’s ability to project power unchecked in the region.
In a Sunday interview with Press TV, he argues that Iran has demonstrated both the military capability and the resolve to defend its sovereignty, warning that any renewed aggression would expose US and Israeli interests to even greater consequences.
Najim also points to Iran’s strategic options, including its regional partnerships and control over key maritime chokepoints, as potential sources of pressure on Washington and Tel Aviv.
He further argues that the economic fallout of the confrontation is extending well beyond West Asia, affecting energy prices, shipping routes and economies across Europe and North America.
Against this backdrop, the commentator suggests that mounting regional and global costs could make Washington more reluctant to pursue another military confrontation with Tehran.
