Iran warning

Iran’s foreign minister has warned that any Israel-instigated military misadventure in the Persian Gulf would devastate international gas markets. In a social media post, Abbas Araghchi said Iran's energy diplomacy advanced at the 8th Gas Exporting Countries Forum summit. He added discussions focused on global gas markets, energy security, with Persian Gulf stability a major concern for suppliers and consumers. Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told the summit in Russia that US sanctions amount to economic terrorism. He said that the Us sanctions threaten market stability, urging major suppliers to condemn and counter American military interventions in the region. Iran is a founding GECF member and holds the world's second-largest proven gas reserves.

Saudi Yemen strike

At least 14 people have been killed and 17 others injured in fresh Saudi attacks on Yemen. The deadly strike targeted al-Hazm market in Yemen’s al-Jawf governorate. Another Yemeni was reportedly killed in a series of Saudi airstrikes targeting the coastal city of Mokha. Meanwhile, explosions were reported in the southern city of Aden. This came after a spokesperson for Yemen’s Armed Forces issued an evacuation order for Aden Airport, warning that a Saudi aircraft was transporting weapons intended to be used against the Yemeni people.

Bolsonaro flees to US

Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro and his family has arrived in the US, after he left Brazil following his defeat in Sunday's presidential election. This comes despite a court order requiring him to surrender his passports. Bolsonaro is under investigation for alleged corruption and money laundering. He crossed into Argentina late Tuesday with his wife and two daughters. The family then boarded a private plane bound for Miami. Bolsonaro lost the presidential election to incumbent Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva but has yet to concede defeat. US President Donald Trump has said he supports Bolsonaro's arrival in the United States. Lula has accused the Trump administration of working with the Bolsonaro family to help them return to power.
