Hailing Iranian nation resistance
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution says the enemy’s desperation is one of the results of the Iranian nation’s resistance. Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei called for pursuing the interests and rights of the Iranian nation and the resistance front. He said those rights and interests should be pursued through the conditions laid out by the officials of the Islamic Republic with the aim of putting an end to the war. The Leader made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s security chief Mohsen Rezaei. In the meeting, the country’s top security official submitted a report about the country’s situation in different areas.
US endangering global economy
President Masoud Pezeshkian says the US-Israeli attacks on Iran in the middle of negotiations, along with strikes on its energy infrastructure, threaten global security. Speaking at the 8th Gas Exporting Countries Forum Summit in Russia, President Pezeshkian said US military activities in the Persian Gulf have disrupted energy prices, supply and transit, threatening global economic growth. He described the forum as a key platform for multilateral cooperation and addressing global energy challenges. Pezeshkian stressed that developing technology, expanding energy markets, promoting sustainable environmental management and tackling energy poverty are vital to strengthening global energy security. On the sidelines of the summit, Pezeshkian met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The two discussed strengthening bilateral relations specially in the energy sector.
Israeli election
Israeli voter turnout stood at 44.9 percent at 12:00 GMT, the highest at that point in any general election since the 1970s. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed concern over high turnout among Arab citizens, claiming they are trying to steal the election. About seven-point-three million Israelis, including one-point-two million Palestinian citizens, are eligible to vote. Netanyahu’s Likud and far-right allies face an opposition bloc led by former army chief Gadi Eisenkot. Neither bloc is projected to secure the 61 seats needed for a parliamentary majority, making coalition negotiations crucial. Exit polls are expected within hours of polls closing. Official results are due on November 4.
