SNSC chief Major General Mohsen Rezaei (R) met Yemen’s ambassador to Tehran, Ibrahim al-Dulaimi, on October 27, 2026.

Iran’s top security official met with Yemen’s ambassador to Tehran, a day after Iran hosted a regional summit attended by Saudi Arabia, which has been waging war on Yemen.

Major General Mohsen Rezaei received Ibrahim al-Dulaimi on Tuesday, according to a statement from Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), which Rezaei heads.

The statement said Rezaei praised Yemen’s defense of Palestine and Gaza and its “honorable fight” against the Israeli regime during the joint US-Israeli aggression against Iran earlier this year.

The top general said the previous day’s meeting with representatives of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan, members of the Mecca Defense Alliance, was an effort to establish internalized regional security arrangements in West Asia and force foreign military forces to withdraw from the region.

Dulaimi, for his part, praised Iran and Rezaei for their positions on regional issues.

The meeting comes amid reports that Saudi, Turkish and Pakistani delegations in Tehran also discussed the ongoing war between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. The SNSC statement made no mention of the issue.

Yemen launched retaliatory attacks against Saudi Arabia following Riyadh’s July bombing of Sana’a International Airport.

Yemen’s armed forces subsequently declared a “blockade for blockade” policy, imposing a maritime embargo on Saudi shipping in the Red Sea.

The Yemeni forces have also carried out retaliatory attacks on targets deep inside the kingdom and made advances across Yemen’s coastal plain over the last month, reinforcing control over the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

The war traces back to March 2015, when Saudi Arabia, along with a US-backed coalition, launched a sweeping military campaign and blockade on Yemen aimed at reinstalling a puppet regime in Sana'a.

Despite years of bombardment and the deployment of advanced Western weaponry against Yemen, the Saudi coalition has failed to achieve its stated objectives.
