Yakub Buray Yilmaz, Deputy Chairman of the Youth Union of Turkey, says Israel's deep political divisions and growing public dissatisfaction with Benjamin Netanyahu could significantly shape the outcome of Israel's upcoming election.
According to the analyst, Netanyahu's handling of the Gaza war, ongoing military operations, and charges of corruption have weakened his standing among voters. He argues that many Israelis are increasingly frustrated with his policies and are calling for an end to the war.
The analyst does not expect a major shift in Israeli policy even if Netanyahu is replaced. In his view, leading opposition figures share many of the same strategic positions on the war, with differences focused more on tactics and leadership style than on overall direction.
Commenting on opposition candidate Gadi Eisenkot, he says his growing support appears to stem from voter dissatisfaction with Netanyahu rather than a demand for fundamental policy change. He believes many voters are seeking a change in leadership, while broader state policies are likely to remain largely unchanged.
