US 'strategic defeats'
The spokesman of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps says the United States has suffered strategic defeats during the war with Iran. Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said Washington was forced to revise and scale down its objectives in the war, adding that it achieved none of them. General Mohebbi said the US had been claiming for years that its military presence in the region guarantees security. However, according to Mohebbi, the recent war proved that the US is facing challenges in establishing security despite possessing a large naval fleet. He also said that the imposed US-Israeli war undermined Washington’s claims of intelligence superiority and exposed weaknesses in its intelligence centers and bases. He also said that Iran is a superpower, adding that recent developments have highlighted the capabilities, courage, and resilience of the Iranian people.
Iran slams IAEA
Iran says the International Atomic Energy Agency has drifted away from its founding principles, calling on the agency to stop political selectivity and double standards. In a statement marking the 70th anniversary of the IAEA Statute, Iran’s Permanent Mission in Vienna said the agency’s credibility is severely tarnished due to political pressure from powerful states. The mission stressed that the IAEA was founded to promote peaceful nuclear energy for all nations, warning that turning the agency into a mere tool for scrutiny undermines its legal mandate. The statement condemned the agency’s total silence over American and Israeli military attacks against Iranian nuclear sites in 2025 and 2026, calling it an unprecedented institutional failure. Iran also pointed to the blatant double standard approach of concentrating on its peaceful nuclear program while ignoring the Israeli regime's unsafeguarded atomic arsenal. The mission called on the IAEA to end political selectivity, safeguard confidential technical data, and honor the sovereign equality of all member states.
War crimes for votes
In his latest bid to shore up political support ahead of Israel’s upcoming elections, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced a military operation to destroy Palestinian homes in al-Khalil, in the occupied West Bank. This comes after two Israeli soldiers were killed and three others injured in a shooting operation near al-Khalil. Two Palestinians allegedly carrying out the operation were also killed in the exchange of fire. Following the operation, the Israeli p-m canceled his election campaign events, and reportedly held an emergency security meeting. He ordered the regime’s forces to immediately impose a closure of al-Khalil and prepare for a full lock down of the occupied West Bank. He also announced that Israeli forces would enter Palestinian neighborhoods, force out residents, conduct house-to-house raids and destroy what he called terrorist infrastructure. Israeli forces have already abducted three Palestinians in raids.
