Islamic Revolution Leader

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei says the West seeks to inflict suffering on Iranians through medical sanctions. In a statement marking National Nurse Day, Ayatollah Khamenei says Western powers spare no effort in imposing various forms of oppression and committing crimes against independent and resilient nations, particularly Iran. He adds that Global arrogance seeks to inflict pain on Iran with medical restrictions. He has also paid tribute to all nurses killed in the imposed US-Israeli war on Iran. The US has imposed severe sanctions on Iran’s pharmaceuticals industry as part of Washington’s broader pressure campaign against Tehran. The anti-Iran measure has affected millions of Iranians.

Environmental warfare

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has condemned the environmental consequences of the US-Israeli war on Iran, saying the attacks have severely damaged the country’s ecosystems. Addressing the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in Armenia, President Pezeshkian has said war not only targets human lives and economic infrastructure, but inflicts profound devastation upon nature. He has described the destruction of the environment during wars as “ecocide", citing attacks on industrial and energy facilities that contaminate the soil and water. Pezeshkian has added that destructive and prohibited weapons were used during the imposed US-Israeli war on Iran, with some attacks intentionally causing environmental damage, including strikes on fuel storage facilities in the capital, Tehran. The Iranian president has called on the international community to establish mechanisms to assess environmental damage and to help restore ecosystems affected by war.

No US vessels in Persian Gulf

Tehran says US naval vessels have moved more than 500 kilometers from the Persian Gulf coastline, warning that Iran’s ongoing military operations will push them even farther away. Iranian Army spokesperson Brigadier General Akraminia says the withdrawal of US forces from the region is essential for peace and stability. He has also warned that vessels must coordinate with Iran’s armed forces before transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Akraminia also blamed the US military presence for insecurity east of the strait. He accused Washington of directing ships through the waterway’s southern section, adding that the move has resulted in damage to vessels. He urged ship-owners to return to routes designated by Iran’s armed forces, assuring them that ships following these routes would remain safe.
