A large pro-Palestine demonstration brought traffic to a standstill in parts of central London on Saturday night, as protesters rallied against Israeli military action in Gaza and the West Bank.

Footage shows protesters filling the road at Oxford Circus, waving Palestinian flags and blocking traffic. Iraqi flags are also visible as demonstrators beat a drum and chant "Free, free Palestine" and "No justice, no peace."

Some protesters are seen with their faces covered by keffiyehs as they rally in the street. Organizers said demonstrators shut down both Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus during the action.

One banner reads: "Stop Arming Israel. No Palantir in the NHS. US out of British Bases. End the occupation." Another protester holds a placard calling for the release of Palestinian doctor Hussam Abu Safiya.

Protesters also called for the closure of Israel-based military company Elbit Systems' operations in Britain and the release of defendants linked to the  Filton 25.

The Filton 25 are activists arrested in connection with an August 2024 break-in at an Elbit Systems UK site in Filton, near Bristol.

Five activists were on trial at Woolwich Crown Court at the time of Saturday's protest over their alleged role in the break-in.

The London demonstration came as Israeli strikes continued in Gaza despite a ceasefire that took effect nearly a year ago.
