Iran controlling Hormuz

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has once again rejected the US president’s baseless claims on the Strait of Hormuz, saying the strategic waterway is not only closed, but has turned into a hunting ground for American submarines. The IRGC’s spokesman, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, made the comment in a social media post. He was referring to the earlier capture of the second American unmanned underwater vehicle by the IRGC’s naval forces in the Hormuz Strait. Mohebbi said the second prey has been captured, which this time around is an advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicle. He added that the captured AUV is equipped with sonar and precise navigation equipment, and is worth millions of dollars. The spokesman concluded by saying that what the IRGC has done is not just hunting; it's intelligence loot. Earlier, the IRGC Navy said the operation conducted to capture the vehicle was a coordinated and complex effort involving intelligence superiority and electronic warfare. The vehicle is now in the possession of Iranian specialists, who are working to retrieve its data. 

Saudi Yemen aggression

Iran has strongly condemned recent Saudi attacks on Yemen’s infrastructure and civilian targets, calling them a violation of the country’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the attacks have left large numbers of defenseless Yemeni civilians dead or wounded, and caused extensive infrastructural damage. The ministry also condemned Sunday's airstrikes on a market in the city of Ta’iz, which killed more than 50 people and injured dozens more, as well as the airstrikes on Khub and al-Shaf. It noted that aggressive operations against Yemeni cities and villages, which recently witnessed US-Israeli attacks, in addition to the continued economic blockade of the country, are against the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and the teachings of Islam. Reiterating Iran's principled position on the situation in Yemen, the ministry emphasized Tehran’s readiness to use all its good offices to facilitate the resolution of the existing problems on the basis of the agreed roadmap.

Israel West Bank violations

Israel has revoked the diplomatic status of Dutch diplomats serving in Palestine in response to measures taken by the Netherlands’ government against Israeli settlements. The decision came after the Dutch government banned the import and trade of products from Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. Israel has notified the Dutch Embassy that its diplomats in Ramallah must return the diplomatic credentials within seven days, after which their diplomatic immunities will expire. Last week, the Dutch government launched a comprehensive ban on the import, marketing, and sale of products coming from Israeli settlements. It has also banned the entry of products originating from settlements in the occupied West Bank, and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. The Dutch government said the decision applies to commercial imports by companies as well as goods carried in the personal luggage of individual travelers. The Dutch ban followed coordinated action by 12 Western countries, including Britain and France, to sanction goods from Israeli settlements at the start of the month.
