Iran warning US against miscalculation
US-Iran tensions remain high, with Iran continuing to present diplomacy as the only viable path forward. The two sides are still exchanging warnings and demands, however. Tehran says the conditions for negotiations remain in place, while Washington is reportedly seeking further nuclear concessions and has rejected Iran’s latest proposal.
At the same time, Iran’s top military commanders have warned the US against any further miscalculation. Meanwhile, the two sides continue to offer sharply different accounts of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. Where does this leave the prospects for diplomacy, and how much room remains to prevent another military confrontation?
