Response to Trump threats 

Iranian Armed Forces have reacted to Donald Trump's latest threats during his address to the UN General Assembly, saying his remarks prove the US is facing a strategic impasse in its aggression against the Iranian nation. The reaction came in a joint statement by the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces and Khatam-al-Anbyia Central Headquarters. The statement said Trump's hostile statements and repeated threats against Iran are merely a domestic propaganda tool, rather than being based on facts on the ground. It added that Trump misuses the UN platform to justify the aggression, stoking insecurity, and banditry by the US in the world. Iranian Armed Forces said given the exhaustion of the US military, repetition of such baseless claims and threats is not a sign of strength, but a sign of their strategic frustration. They added that Trump's rhetoric will never compensate for his country's degraded position in the new world order, and America's humiliating defeats in the war against Iran and the resistance front. The statement said Iran's powerful forces will respond to Trump's threats by inflicting more severe, crushing, and unpredictable blows on the aggressors and leaders of America and the Zionist regime.

Iran-US talks 

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held talks with Steve Witkoff on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session after Washington persistently requested the meeting. The Iranian TV, quoting an informed source, said the US representative in negotiations with Iran insisted on the meeting, and the Iranian side agreed in order to convey Tehran's conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The source added that Iran relayed its firm positions on the Hormuz Strait to the US envoy. An immediate end to the US naval blockade, the release of all Iranian frozen assets, and an end to the war across all resistance fronts were mentioned as Iran’s conditions for reopening the strategic waterway. The Strait of Hormuz was closed after the US-Israeli aggression against Iran in late February, disrupting a significant share of the world’s oil and commercial shipping, and pushing up global energy prices.

US losing Iran war 

Nearly two in three Americans believe that the United States is not winning the war with Iran, and an even higher number say President Donald Trump isn’t doing enough to end it. A new poll by CNN says 64 percent of Americans believe that the US has failed to win the war it has launched against Iran. The survey also revealed that seventy-eight percent of Americans believe that Trump is not doing enough to end the war, while 75 percent say he does not have a clear plan for handling the situation in Iran. A broad majority of respondents also asserted that the Iran war has hurt US interests and has not been worth the costs. The results also showed only 29 percent of American adults approve of Trump's handling of foreign affairs, which represents a new low in all CNN polls across Trump's two presidential terms. Most respondents stated that Trump's foreign policy decisions this term are harming America’s standing in the world rather than helping it.
