Trump’s attacks on law, press reveal his support beginning to erode: Analyst
Investigative journalist Rick Sterling argues that Donald Trump is violating international law “left and right” while attempting to suppress reporting and criticism of his actions.
He cites the blockade of Cuba, the kidnapping of Venezuela’s president, the killing of people aboard boats in the Caribbean, and the illegal war on Iran as examples.
Sterling contends that Trump is also violating US domestic law, while those who challenge or investigate his conduct increasingly feel the pressure of presidential power. Yet he says Trump’s authority is “really in question,” pointing to criticism from even conservative outlets, including Fox News, as well as the firing of the editor and publisher of Stars and Stripes.
Addressing Trump’s repeated falsehoods and dictates on Truth Social, Sterling says that fewer people are believing the president and that more Americans are coming to view him as “a disgrace to the United States.”
