Press TV reporter abduction 

International condemnation is mounting over Israel’s abduction of Press TV’s Palestinian American correspondent Naqaa Hamed in the occupied West Bank. American non-profit organization, Committee to Protect Journalists, said unsubstantiated espionage allegations against the reporter must not be used to criminalize journalism. US Senator Chris Van Hollen also slammed the regime’s arrest of Naqaa, stressing that she is facing bogus espionage allegations. Earlier, Press TV vehemently condemned the abduction of its West Bank correspondent, describing it as an organized, illegal and aggressive operation aimed at silencing the truth. This comes as Naqaa was brought before the Salem military court yesterday, where she was pressed with false charges of incitement over her journalistic coverage of events in the village of Qusra. The court extended Hamed’s detention until September 23rd. Her lawyer also filed an appeal before the Ofer Military Court, with a new hearing scheduled for next Tuesday to consider the appeal. The abducted Press TV reporter and a mother of three, was stopped and detained at a checkpoint near Bethlehem on Tuesday while she was with her camera crew.

'Sacrifice for Iran' 

A rally has been held in the Iranian capital Tehran, with the participation of hundreds of thousands of people who have volunteered to defend the country against enemies and fight alongside the Iranian armed forces. The rally, dubbed “Sacrifice for Iran,” is part of a broader campaign launched following the US-Israeli war on Iran. Over 30 million people registered online in show of willingness to sacrifice their lives for their homeland. The campaign organizes and trains Iranian civilians for defense, support for the armed forces, and rescue operations. Since the beginning of the war in late February, various Iranian cities have seen rallies in support of the Islamic Establishment and the country’s armed forces. 

Yemen mass rally 

A large crowd of Yemenis have gathered in the city of Saada to express support for the country’s armed forces and condemn Saudi Arabia’s claim that Yemen attacked the holy city of Mecca. Demonstrators chanted slogans against the Israeli regime, the US, and their regional allies. They also carried Yemeni flags and images of Ansarullah leader Seyyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi. On Thursday, the Yemeni leader rejected Saudi claims that Yemen had carried out attacks on Mecca. He said such propaganda was aimed at turning Muslim nations against Yemen. Al-Houthi also praised the Yemeni armed forces for their gains in the battles against Saudi-backed forces. The Yemeni fighters achieved full access to the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait after days of fighting.
