Press TV reporter abducted 

The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate has condemned Israel's continued abduction and targeting of Palestinian journalists, including Press TV’s West Bank reporter, Naqaa Hamed. The Syndicate said in its statement that Naqaa Hamed’s abduction is the latest example of Israel detaining a journalist. It added that Hamed was abducted while passing through a military checkpoint in the town of Tuqu', southeast of Bethlehem. The syndicate noted that Hamed is the mother of three children, who has diabetes and other health problems. It warned that Hamed’s continued detention raises serious concerns about her health and safety given the harsh conditions and lack of adequate medical care in Israeli prisons and detention centres. The Syndicate said Hamed's abduction came amid a recent Israeli campaign against Palestinian journalists, which has seen 38 reporters abducted so far by the regime’s forces.

Slamming Germany's 'big lie'

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has strongly slammed German chancellor’s anti-Iran accusations, saying his narrative of the US-Israeli aggression is knowingly distorted. The ministry’s spokesman made the comment in a social media post in reaction to Friedrich Merz' claims about what he called the Iran war, Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program, and resistance groups. Esmaeil Baqaei said it was the US and Israel that started the war of aggression, and Germany failed to show even the minimum moral courage required to deplore that. He also rejected Merz’s characterization of resistance groups as Iran's proxies, saying they are independent actors with their own causes and calculations. Baqaei said those groups are fighting for self-determination, freedom, and dignity against occupation. He also called the German leader’s claim about Iran having a military nuclear program as repetition of Israel's “big lie,” which is fabricated by the regime's apologizers. Baqaei added that the West Asia region should not have to pay the price for Germany’s guilt complex or its habit of appeasement vis-a-vis bullies. 

Rejecting Saudi accusations 

The head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council has strongly rejected Saudi Arabia’s false claim that the Yemeni forces targeted Mecca, calling it a desperate attempt to rally the public opinion in favor of the regime. Mahdi al-Mashat said the Yemeni people have demonstrated their commitment to Islamic holy sites and are ready to make sacrifices in defense of the Grand Mosque, just as they support Al-Aqsa Mosque. He added that those who gifted the covering of Kaaba’s to the late American sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, are the ones who target Mecca and Islamic holy sites. Mashat noted that instead of raising accusations against Yemen, the Saudi regime should have rallied Muslim peoples when the “criminal US President Donald Trump” insulted Mecca and depicted Kaaba in an inappropriate manner. He stressed that such claims no longer deceive Arab and Muslim peoples, just as earlier claims about Yemen’s threats to international navigation failed to do so. Earlier, member of Yemen’s Ansarullah Political Bureau, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, also rejected Saudi Arabia’s accusations, saying they stem from the regime’s fear and confusion over Yemen’s missile and drone strikes.
