US warplanes damaged
A new report has revealed that several US military aircraft were damaged in Iran’s Wednesday strikes on a US airbase in Jordan. According to CBS News, around eight F-15 fighter jets were damaged at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, also known as Al-Azraq. An A-10 Thunderbolt 2 was also hit and reportedly lost a wing. Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps launched the attack in response to a US strike on five Iranian oil tankers on Tuesday. The IRGC said a heavy barrage of solid- and liquid-fuel ballistic missiles struck aircraft maintenance and preparation hangars, fighter deployment areas, and shelters housing F-35, F-16, and F-15 jets. The Jordanian base serves as a key hub for US terrorist military operations in the region and hosts dozens of American warplanes.
Israeli aggression on Lebanon
The Israeli military has launched a fresh wave of attacks on southern Lebanon, intensifying its deadly strikes despite a ceasefire agreement with Beirut. Heavy explosions rocked the southern towns of Bani Hayyan and al-Mansouri. Israeli artillery shelled areas near Kfar Shouba and the outskirts of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah. Israel continues its bombing campaign across southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States. The regime is also occupying nearly five percent of Lebanese territory, claiming the land is needed to establish a so-called buffer zone.
Abuse of Palestinian prisoners
Newly uncovered messages from Israeli prison guards detail alleged abuse and killings of Palestinian prisoners at Ketziot Prison. The WhatsApp messages, obtained by Israeli prosecutors, reportedly show guards describing brutal beatings and celebrating the death of a Palestinian detainee. The messages were uncovered as part of an investigation into the deaths of nine Palestinian prisoners, with 12 guards indicted over involvement. The revelations have also raised allegations that senior prison officials suppressed reports of abuse or turned a blind eye to it. Israeli rights group Breaking the Silence said the messages point to a wider pattern of abuse in Israeli detention centers. The revelations come amid growing scrutiny of conditions faced by Palestinian detainees in Israeli custody since the Gaza genocide began in October 2023. Israeli authorities have faced severe allegations of systematic abuse and mistreatment, while regime officials have denied institutionalized abuse.
