US submersible captured
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says its naval forces have captured an advanced unmanned submersible belonging to the US military at the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC says the vehicle was intercepted in a complex operation based on extensive surveillance. It added the unmanned submersible incorporates some of the world’s latest underwater technologies that was delivered to the US military fleet in 2025. The underwater vehicle has been seized as a war prize and images of the captured system would be released soon. US military actions against Iran have disrupted shipping activities in the Strait of Hormuz.
Qatar mediation attempts
Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ibrahim Sultan Al-Hashmi, says Doha is working with regional and international partners, including China, to help resume talks between the United States and Iran. Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani is also leading a delegation in Beijing to discuss regional issues. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has backed dialogue during talks with the Qatari premier, saying pressure through guns and cannons is not the way out. The remarks come amid tensions following the US aggression against Iran which has heightened regional security concerns.
Response to Saudi 'crimes'
Saudi Arabia has carried out fresh airstrikes against several areas across Yemen, amid escalating tensions between the two countries. Airstrikes were launched against Al-Wazi’iyah District in Yemen’s Ta'iz Governorate. Four Saudi air raids also targeted Al-Jubah District in Marib, while artillery shells hit residential villages in Razih District. Meanwhile, further clashes have been reported between Yemen's Ansarullah forces and Saudi-backed mercenaries in Al-Wazi’iyah. Saudi Arabia also attacked Yemen’s provinces of al-Jawf, al-Bayda, Marib and Taiz on Monday.
