Iran military might

Iran's top security official says the country has issued a new warning to US forces by firing a brand-new anti-ship missile at an American aircraft carrier. Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, made the remarks in a social media post. The general added that the United States’ so-called economic warfare against Iran will be met with a maritime exclusion zone across the Persian Gulf up to the US blockade perimeter. He also asserted that Iran's operational posture toward US warships and bases in the region has been fundamentally recalibrated. His comments came following a televised interview in which Rezaei said Iran's new missile, which was used for the first time, created hell-like conditions for the US aircraft carrier, causing it to flee the engagement zone. He added in the interview that Iran will announce a prohibited zone outside the Strait of Hormuz in coming days, and any ship entering this new zone will be placed on the country's sanctions list.

Saudi aggression against Yemen

Yemen’s Supreme Political Council has warned that targeting civilians and detainees and violating the country’s sovereignty will not go unpunished. The warning followed fresh Saudi airstrikes targeting a prison in al-Jawf province and civilians elsewhere in the country. The council said in its statement that the Saudi enemy bears full responsibility for this grave escalation and its consequences. It added that Yemen will not remain idle amid continued Saudi escalation, and will exercise its legitimate right to defend its people, sovereignty and interests. The council stressed that Yemenis' blood is not expendable, and the people’s rights and national sovereignty will not be ignored or bargained over. It noted that no matter how brutal Saudi crimes are, they will only strengthen Yemenis’ resolve and steadfastness until final victory and the liberation of every inch of Yemen’s territory. Saudi Arabia’s fresh attacks on Yemen’s al-Jawf, Marib, Taiz and Hudaydah have killed over a dozen people, including women and children and injured dozens more.

Israel crimes in Gaza

A UN special rapporteur has warned that Israel could use clearance of rubble in Gaza to destroy valuable evidence of its "atrocity crimes" and prevent the recovery of human remains. The UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories said evidence of the regime’s crimes should be gathered, and human remains identified before full clearance started. Francesca Albanese added that Palestinians must be in charge of any plans to remove waste. She said in devastated Gaza, rubble is not just construction waste, but part of a crime scene, and the material record of what happened during a brutal and senseless bombing campaign that lasted two years. Albanese said multiple sources have confirmed that Israeli companies are currently involved in the clearance. The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, also warned against Israel’s attempts to obliterate evidence of its brutal crimes by removing, crushing and relocating the rubble. It added that tampering with these sites that contain Palestinians’ bodies and evidence, constitutes a violation of international law and the International Court of Justice's ruling that calls for the preservation of evidence.
