Slamming US bullying

The Iranian president says the United States must change its tone and approach when dealing with Iran and comply with its commitments under international law. Masoud Pezeshkian made the comment in a meeting with the Chief of the Pakistani Army, Field Marshal Asim Munir. He added that the US reliance on bullying and coercion will only complicate executive processes. Referring to the Iranian nation’s resilience in the face of pressures, Pezeshkian said this resilience is rooted in the country’s national unity. He stressed that the Iranian people will thwart pressures and threats through their solidarity. The Iranian president said the unity and solidarity of Muslim countries is the most important factor that blocks the plots hatched by the Israeli regime and other enemies of Islam. Pezeshkian stressed that Iran is ready for all kinds of cooperation with Muslim and neighboring countries to establish sustainable peace and security in the region. For his part, Munir said Pakistan will continue its mediatory role, and believes that ending the current regional crisis will open a new chapter in regional development and clear the way for the establishment of collective security.

US economic war on Iran

Iran's minister of economic affairs has downplayed the United States’ new sanctions against the country, saying the government has prepared a comprehensive plan to thwart Washington’s coercive measures. Speaking in a televised interview, Ali Madanizadeh reacted to the US treasury secretary’s announcement of the so-called economic war on Iran. He said the government has been ready for new sanctions since a long time ago, and has drawn up a two-year plan to manage the country’s economic affairs and counter US sanctions. Madanizadeh stressed that the Americans have done everything they could to test the determination of the Iranian people and the country's officials, but they have failed every time. He noted that Iran has engaged in an all-out war with the US in economic and diplomatic arenas, and defeated it in both fields. Referring to US naval blockade of Iran, the minister said the blockade is an extension of the military aggression. He added that Washington is trying to cut off Tehran’s financial channels, but the unipolar world is over and the global financial flow does not allow them to cut off Iran's economic and financial channels.

Trump approval at rock bottom

US President Donald Trump's approval has hit a new record low as public support for the aggression against Iran has fallen to its lowest level since the early days of the war. A new poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos shows that only 31 percent of Americans support the war on Iran, down from 37 percent in March. The poll results also revealed that Trump's approval among the US public has hit a new low. For the second survey in a row, only 33 percent of respondents approved of Trump's performance in the White House, which is the lowest level recorded in his first or second terms. Despite Trump's election promises to control inflation and avoid lengthy military conflicts, six months into the war with Iran, US gasoline prices are more than a dollar higher per gallon than they were before the war. The poll also showed that independent voters now favor Democrats over Republicans when asked who they would vote for in congressional elections if the elections were held today.
