Iran warning
The Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has issued a warning to southern Persian Gulf states regarding assistance to the US Army. Major General Ali Abdollahi said any assistance or facilitation provided to the US aggressor army would amount to participation alongside American forces. He said southern Persian Gulf states that announce that they won’t allow the US to use their territories against Iran should know that Tehran is closely monitoring developments. Abdollahi also questioned how large numbers of US military aircraft, particularly aerial refueling planes, could be deployed at regional bases without the knowledge of host countries. Since the beginning of the US-Israeli war in late February, Iran has repeatedly warned against American military presence in the region, adding that US bases there must be dismantled.
Israel deadly Gaza strike
Israel’s genocidal campaign continues in Gaza despite US President Trump’s so-called peace plan efforts. At least 17 people have been killed across the Palestinian territory since dawn. Nine Palestinians were killed and 15 others injured in an Israeli strike on a police center in Gaza City, with police officers and personnel among the victims. Some victims were reportedly torn to pieces. Another Palestinian was also killed in an Israeli strike on Nuseirat refugee camp. The UN says it has recorded at least 12 attacks on police since January, killing at least 53 civilians, including 35 police personnel. This comes as Trump’s envoy Jared Kushner has held separate meetings with Hamas and Israeli officials to advance Trump’s Gaza roadmap.
Yemen Saudi embargo
Yemen’s Armed Forces say they have stepped up attacks on Saudi-linked oil shipping and military positions, with dozens of vessels targeted and blocked since July 20. Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, says eight Saudi oil ships have been targeted following the declaration of a maritime embargo against the kingdom. He says another 48 Saudi oil ships were prevented from passing and forced to return. Saree also said Yemeni forces carried out nine operations against targets in Yanbu, Najran, Jizan and Abha, including oil facilities and pipelines in Saudi Arabia’s eastern region. Saudi Arabia launched a military intervention in Yemen in March 2015, leading a coalition in an effort to push back the Ansarullah movement.
