Iran stern warning
A senior adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution says Iran opting for escalating the war, in case its conditions are not met, will undoubtedly change the global balance of power. In a social media post, Mohammad Mokhber said the strategy has been drawn by Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei. He was referring to Iran’s conditions on managing safe shipping in the Hormuz Strait. Mokhber added that the United States’ inability to protect its allies in the Persian Gulf shows that the most sustainable path to a new regional order is to establish the Hormuz economic-security mechanism independently of Washington’s military guarantees. Meanwhile, Iran’s foreign minister has warned the US against any new miscalculation over the Strait of Hormuz. Abbas Araghchi says the US has long made miscalculations due to its intelligence failures, citing the war on Iran as a case in point.
US 'lies' about Hormuz
Iran’s Khatam-al-Anbiya Central Headquarters says Washington's recent claims about normal shipping in the Strait of Hormuz under US control are baseless, and a sign of the US military’s desperation and weakness. The central military command's spokesman says the US is constantly seeking instability in the region, and its baseless threats will only worsen the predicaments it's facing, thanks to Iranian armed forces' combat readiness. Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari added that Iran’s military is closely monitoring all US and Israeli moves in the region. He said under the command of the leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran remains fully committed to defending its national rights and sovereignty, and will deliver a stronger and more decisive response to any threat, at any level.
Settlers siege Palestinian village
Israeli settlers’ siege on three Palestinian families in the occupied West Bank is in its fourth day. All water and electricity to the houses located in the village of Qusra south of Nablus have been cut off. Palestinians say the Israelis are trying to steal their land and they will not leave. The siege began on Sunday with settlers blocking all entrances. The trapped families say their supply is running out and that Israeli forces have done nothing to break the siege. Qusra sits in Area B of the occupied West Bank. The village has faced a string of recent attacks, including the burning of a newly built mosque last month. Violence and land seizures in the occupied West Bank have intensified over the past months, with settlers emboldened by the far-right cabinet of prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
