President Pezeshkian interview 

Iran's President says all enemy plans and pressures are aimed at making the people dissatisfied and provoking them to protest, but the Iranian people will stand for their country. Masoud Pezeshkian added that the entire Iranian nation helped to keep the country together, even those who had objections to the government. Speaking in a televised interview, Pezeshkian said the government has managed the country under the most difficult conditions since the Islamic Revolution by relying on the people's solidarity. He cited war, sanctions, energy imbalance, and water crisis as the most important challenges facing the nation. Pezeshkian stressed that the enemies plotted to cause social collapse and force the country into submission through missile strikes and destruction, but the people's support prevented that. The Iranian president asserted that the assassination of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, as well as military commanders and scientists by the US-Israeli aggressors has proved the falsehood of their claims to human rights, freedoms, and similar topics. He praised the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, describing his character in terms of ethics, logic, and humility as "truly exceptional."

Plight of Palestinian abductees 

A Palestinian media group has released a new report, warning that human rights violations against Palestinian abductees in Israeli prisons have sharply risen during July. According to the Asra Media Office, as the number of Palestinian abductees in the regime’s jails reaches unprecedented levels, there has been a remarkable uptick in such rights violations as torture, starvation, medical neglect, and isolation. The office said it has documented an escalation in the use of repressive tactics inside Israeli prisons, including raids on sections, beatings of prisoners, the use of rubber bullets and police dogs, and solitary confinement. It added that torture in Israeli jails is not limited to physical harm, but also extends to psychological damage, leaving prisoners with lasting trauma, fear and nightmares. The office noted that there are about 9,500 Palestinians in Israeli jails, including hundreds of women and children and over 3,200 administrative detainees, who are being held without charges or trial.

Epstein files fallout 

The US state of New Mexico has sued the Department of Justice for access to unredacted files on Jeffrey Epstein, saying the federal agency is stonewalling investigation into the late sex offender by refusing to provide the documents. The Democratic-run state reopened its Epstein investigation in February, requesting unredacted files to identify visitors and staff at a property owned by Epstein in New Mexico. The Department of Justice says it can provide some files, but cannot supply other material due to privacy protections. The New Mexico lawsuit argues that federal inaction does not merely stall the investigation, but also prolongs and compounds the suffering of survivors. It has requested that the US District Court for the District of Columbia compel acting Attorney General, Todd Blanche, to release the requested files. The development came after New Mexico legislators released an interim report on their independent investigation into the Epstein case. They said evidence to date shows Epstein abused at least five women and girls at his New Mexico ranch between 1996 and 2012.
