Analyst links UK support for war on Iran, Ukraine attack on ship to broader pressure campaign
Placing the US-Israeli campaign against Iran within a broader geopolitical context, Leila Hatoum, editor-in-chief of MENA Uncensored, has argued that the pressure on Tehran extends well beyond the Middle East.
She said Ukraine aligns with US and Israeli interests, contending that multiple global fronts are being used to distract attention and weaken Iran’s influence after direct efforts to confront it in the region failed.
Hatoum noted the UK has long supported military actions against Iran and its regional allies by providing intelligence, logistics, and naval deployments alongside the US and Israel.
She said British military assets, including bases in Cyprus and warships operating across the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Mediterranean, and Arabian Sea, have supported operations targeting Iran, Hezbollah, Iraqi resistance groups, and Yemen.
