Iran warns over 'Pickaxe' strike

A senior Iranian security official has told Press TV that US President Donald Trump seeks to fabricate an achievement for himself by a possible strike on Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain. The official said any attack on the mountain would be dead on arrival due to the site's reinforced structure, adding that the facility is currently empty. The official noted that everyone knows that targeting an empty warehouse would only serve to generate false claims. The official also warned that Iran would respond in a different way and would not limit its reaction to a heavy military response. However, no further details were provided on what the official meant by a non-military or a different response. 

Iranian armed forces response 

The Iranian Army says it has launched fresh waves of drone strikes against US military bases in the region, in retaliation for acts of aggression on Iran. In a statement related to the 25th phase of its Operation Thunder, the Iranian Army said it has targeted Camp Al-Adiri, Camp Doha and Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. The statement says US President’s threats only reinforce the determination of the Iranian people and armed forces to stand against aggressors. Earlier, during the 24th of the Operation, the Iranian Army targeted Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. Fuel storage facilities, large warehouses and accommodation quarters used by US forces were targeted there. The Army’s drone strikes were also aimed at Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan. The Iranian Army warned that any action against the legitimate interests of the Iranian nation will put the security and economic interests of other countries in the region at risk. Meanwhile, Deputy Coordinator of the Iranian Army, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, says the country's armed forces have emerged stronger after recent confrontations.

Slamming Israel violence 

Israeli forces have shot and killed four Palestinians in a deadly shootout in a settlement near Nablus. This comes after armed Israeli settlers backed by occupation forces stormed the village of Tal and were confronted by Palestinian residents who rushed to defend the village. Israeli forces opened fire at the residents which led to a Palestinian seizing a weapon from one of the soldiers and returning fire. The clashes left several Palestinians injured and killed 2 Israeli soldiers. Regime forces imposed sweeping military restrictions around Nablus following the confrontation and launched a large-scale operation in the area. Meanwhile, far-right Israeli officials called for mass demolitions of several Palestinian villages. The incident comes amid a surge in attacks by Israeli settlers across the occupied West Bank, with Palestinian communities facing repeated raids, arson attacks and assaults.
