US Jordan bases hit
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps says it has carried out a major missile and drone attack on two US military bases in Jordan, inflicting heavy losses, destroying drones, damaging aircraft and causing casualties among American forces. In a statement, the IRGC said the 25th wave of Operation Nasr 2 targeted the Prince Hassan and King Faisal bases in Jordan in response to continued US attacks on Iranian military and civilian sites. The IRGC said it struck an F-15 preparation hangar, destroyed eight MQ-9 drones inside a drone facility and severely damaged two more. It also said two US heavy helicopters were damaged in a strike on a maintenance hangar. The statement added that missile strikes also hit a facility housing American personnel, resulting in casualties. The IRGC said its punitive operations will continue until the United States pays a heavy price for its acts of aggression.
Yemen Saudi naval blockade
At least four oil tankers have changed course in the Red Sea, with two now heading toward the Suez Canal following Yemen's Ansarollah movement's announced naval blockade targeting the Saudi kingdom. Ship-tracking data indicates that another tanker, which had previously listed Jeddah as its destination, is also diverting away from the Red Sea. Meanwhile, the EU naval force has reportedly advised vessels with links to the United States, Israel, or Saudi Arabia to avoid the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. According to Ansarollah, the blockade was launched in response to Saudi Arabia's siege of Yemen and continued attacks on its airport. The disruption to shipping in the Red Sea is expected to primarily affect Saudi oil exports, particularly through the port of Jeddah. If sustained, it could place at risk as much as 9 million barrels of oil per day, compounding the effects of the existing closure of the Strait of Hormuz and further disrupting global energy supplies.
Hamas priorities
Hamas's new leader has outlined the movement's top priorities, including securing a complete end to Israel's aggression, the full withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Gaza, and the restoration of a dignified life for the people of the Strip. In his first major address, Khalil al-Hayya called for Palestinian national unity and a democratic restructuring of the PLO. The new Hamas leader also thanked Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran for supporting the Palestinian cause "with their blood and arms" and urged the international community to protect Gaza's children and hold Israeli war criminals accountable.
