Iranian armed forces retaliation
Iran's Army says it has launched new waves of drone strikes targeting US military bases in the West Asia region as part of the 22nd phase of Operation Thunder. In a statement, the Iranian Army said its drones struck accommodation and support facilities as well as an equipment warehouse at Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan. It added that Arash loitering drones targeted equipment storage hangars and aircraft maintenance facilities at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. Earlier, the Army said it targeted Camp Doha in Kuwait, striking ammunition depots and logistics facilities used by the US Army's ground forces command. The Army said the operations are dedicated to the heroic and resilient people of southern Iran. It further noted that its forces will continue military operations with public support until their final victory.
Funeral for Minab school children
Crowds of mourners have gathered for the funeral procession of 32 Iranian students martyred in a US bombing of a school in Minab. The funeral was held after the remains of the bodies of the students were identified. The funeral ceremony drew widespread participation from bereaved families, teachers, students, officials, and members of the public, who gathered to pay their final respect. Mourners chanted slogans condemning the United States and Israel. The students were martyred in the US attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab on the first day of the US-Israeli war against Iran on February 28. After weeks of recovery operations at the school and surrounding area, search teams recovered 68 sets of human remains. DNA testing later confirmed that the remains belonged to the 32 students.
Cost of war for US
Protesters holding anti-war signs have interrupted US War Secretary Pete Hegseth several times during a Senate hearing as he seeks additional funding for the war on Iran. Hegseth and top military officials appeared before the Senate Appropriations Committee to defend the White House's 87.6 billion-Dollar emergency budget request. The War Secretary revealed that the war has already cost the US 37.5 billion Dollars, warning that troop training will be curtailed without immediate funding. Democratic lawmakers have sharply criticized the trump administration for starting a war without congressional authority, calling Hegseth a failure and warning against another endless war with no clear outcome. Some lawmakers also slammed the Pentagon for seeking unlimited money for bombs while ordinary Americans struggle to feed their families.
