Iran retaliation

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it has struck the main logistics and support base of the terrorist US Army in West Asia in a new retaliatory operation. The IRGC said the operation successfully destroyed the KJL logistics center of US forces in Kuwait’s Mina Abdullah port. It noted that the operation came in retaliation for the latest US aggression which targeted coastal bases and other locations in Iran's southern provinces with cruise missiles and airstrikes. The IRGC said the operation constituted the fourth wave of Operation Nasr 2. It added that in the fifth wave of the operation, it destroyed the NSI management center, the command control center, big military warehouses, and fuel tanks of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. It stressed that retaliatory operations will continue and the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the US warmongering in the region stops. Meanwhile, the Iranian army said it has carried out a drone attack on Jordan’s al-Azraq Air Base, hitting F-18 fighter jet hangars, and a large warehouse for the military equipment used by US forces.

Opposition to Trump war

Opposition is growing in Washington after Donald Trump formally notified Congress that US military operations against Iran have resumed. Democratic lawmakers have strongly condemned the decision, arguing that the US president cannot restart hostilities without congressional approval. Senator Adam Schiff said Congress must reassert its constitutional war powers, insisting the administration has no legal basis to claim another 60 days of military action. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer warned that Trump's approach is "a recipe for disaster, and called for the war to end immediately". Senator Chris Murphy argued the renewed conflict is already driving up fuel prices and worsening the economic burden on Americans. Their criticism comes after both the House of Representatives and the Senate passed War Powers Act resolutions last month aimed at restricting Trump from continuing the war.

US anti-ICE protest

Protesters have held fresh rallies in the northeastern US state of Maine, slamming the recent killing of a Colombian man by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. The demonstrators marched in the city Portland, holding banners reading “Stop ICE”, while chanting “immigrants are welcome here.” The demonstration comes after a protest was held on Tuesday at the site of the shooting in Biddeford, just hours after the killing took place. The Colombian man, shot by ICE, was permitted to work in the US. ICE claims that he was shot while fleeing from an officer. However, the agency has not yet offered any evidence. Over the past year, video footage of the agency's fatal shootings has time and again disproven its initial statements.
