Revenge for killing resistance commanders is certain, Abu Muhandis family warns Trump

Iraqis are seen at the graveyard of the former deputy head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Abu Mahdi Muhandis.

The family of a martyred former deputy commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) has strongly condemned President Donald Trump's latest remarks against resistance leaders, vowing that revenge is inevitable and will never be forgotten.

“We followed what happened in the Tuesday meeting between the criminal US president and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi [at the White House], where the villain spoke shamelessly about the crime of assassinating Abu Mahdi Muhandis alongside top Iranian anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani” in a US drone strike at Baghdad airport in early January 2020, the family said in a strongly-worded statement released on Wednesday.

The statement noted that such nefarious comments clearly demonstrate Trump’s fear of the consequences of his crimes, especially in Iraq and from the noble Iraqi nation.

The family of the former PMU deputy chief reminded Zaidi that anyone who distances himself from his country's glorious past has actually severed connection with the roots of his nation.

“We have never forgotten and will never forget our revenge; the more appalling crimes Trump perpetrates, the more determined we will become to seek revenge. On the path of revenge, we will rely on Iraqi resistance fighters, and various walks of the Iraqi society,” the statement read.

The family of Abu Muhandis also paid full allegiance to fallen commanders of the Axis of Resistance, Iraqi victims, martyred Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and his rightful successor Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

“Although we cannot take up arms and fight, we will drown Trump and his aides besides accomplices across the region and inside Iraq in our blood. Zaidi’s trip to Washington is clearly aimed at the dissolution of the PMU as an effective deterrent force against arrogant powers, and the US total control over Iraq's oil wealth,” the statement highlighted.

The family of Abu Muhandis dismissed calls for the dissolution of the PMU and the monopoly of weapons in the hands of the state as “an American-Zionist scheme.”

It vowed that Iraqi resistance factions will confront Washington’s attempts to plunder Iraq’s natural assets, just as they fought against the presence of Iraqi occupation forces on the Iraqi soil.
