US army targets Iran's civilian infrastructure as Trump threatens wider attacks on bridges, power grid

The United States struck civilian infrastructure in southwestern Iran on Wednesday, as President Donald Trump threatened further attacks on the country's energy network and bridges, Iranian officials said.

Three locations in Ahvaz were struck overnight, while an earlier attack on an agricultural water pumping station in Mahshahr killed one guard and wounded four others. Separate US strikes on Abadan resulted in the deaths of three people and injured several others.

Hours earlier, another US strike hit a mineral water production plant near a village in the border district of Mousiyan in Ilam Province, damaging part of the facility.

Dehloran Governor Morad Yeganeh said three projectiles struck the factory at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, damaging equipment and infrastructure but causing no casualties.

Speaking to Fox News on Tuesday evening following a new wave of attacks and the renewed naval blockade against Iran, Trump threatened to escalate the aggression in the coming days.

"We will hit Iran very hard tonight. We will hit them very hard tomorrow night, and the night after that. Next week will be very bad for them," Trump said.

The US president also threatened to destroy Iran's bridges and power plants unless Tehran returned to negotiations.

Pezeshkian dismisses inflammatory rhetoric by US President Donald Trump, saying such “disrespectful remarks” reflected those who made them, not the Iranian nation.

Responding to Trump's remarks, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said hostile rhetoric from Iran's enemies was nothing new, and questioned whether they had achieved any of their objectives "on the ground."

"Those who sought to tear our Iran apart and break this nation into pieces, where have they ended up? What have they actually achieved on the ground?" he asked.

Pezeshkian stressed that Iran would "defend every inch of its territory," adding, "These disrespectful remarks are only worthy of them, not the Iranian nation."

The criminal airstrikes and missile attacks by the US military continued for the fourth consecutive night against targets in several Iranian provinces, with various locations in southern, southeastern, southwestern cities and several islands in the Persian Gulf coming under assault from Tuesday night until early Wednesday.

Military and civilian areas in cities across Khuzestan, Ilam, Hormozgan, Bushehr, Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, as well as the islands of Qeshm and Hengam have become targets of US assaults.

In Khuzestan Province, a wheat storage silo in Hoveyzeh and another location in Dasht-e Azadegan were struck by projectiles, with authorities confirming no casualties and stating that further details would be announced later.

Following a projectile strike on an agricultural water pumping station in Mahshahr County, one guard was killed and four others were wounded, while in Abadan County three people were killed and several others injured, officials said.

US projectiles also struck locations in Ahvaz County, with further details to be announced later.

In Hormozgan Province, residents of areas east of Bandar Abbas reported that around 10:50 p.m. Tuesday the sound of three consecutive explosions shook the area, and at 11:00 p.m. a location near Sirik was struck by US projectiles.

At 11:08 p.m., another location near Bandar Abbas city and at midnight a location on Hengam Island were struck. The attacks continued, with a location on Qeshm Island struck at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday and a location in Bandar Abbas at 12:05 a.m., while explosion sounds were heard near Hajjiabad at the same time.

In Bushehr Province, Governor Mohammad Mozaffari said three locations in Bushehr city came under attack on Wednesday, adding that although the attacks involved projectiles, they caused no casualties. Mozaffari noted that four locations in Bushehr city had also been struck the previous day, and that relief agencies were on standby while calm prevailed in the city.

In Sistan and Baluchestan Province, the Ports and Maritime Administration said that following Tuesday night's attacks on Chabahar port, the maritime traffic control center was struck, sustaining structural damage.

The incident caused no casualties or equipment losses, and Shahid Beheshti and Shahid Kalantari ports remained operational with cargo loading and unloading operations ongoing.

The maritime control tower serves a civilian function, primarily used for search and rescue operations for fishermen at sea and for ensuring maritime trade safety.
