German economy: 100,000 job cuts announced

Volkswagen, Germany’s leading car manufacturer, is considering shutting four German factories and ramping up job cuts to as many as 100,000.

The biggest overhaul in the car industry is a symptom of Germany’s deepening economic crisis.
