Syrian authorities have denounced renewed Israeli aggression in southern Syria, warning that the attacks threaten regional stability and undermine efforts to restore security in the country.

On Monday, the foreign ministry of Syria's ruling Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) administration condemned Israeli incursions into the provinces of Quneitra and Daraa, as well as artillery shelling that targeted several areas in the south.

In a statement, the ministry said the attacks had “terrorized civilians” and represented a serious violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“The attacks constitute a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the statement said.

It added that the operations violated international law, the UN Charter, and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement governing the ceasefire line on the occupied Golan Heights.

The ministry warned that continued military actions were hindering efforts to restore security and stability while increasing pressure on communities already affected by years of conflict.

“The continued attacks undermine efforts to promote security and stability, increase the suffering of civilians in the affected areas, and risk further escalation and tension across the region,” the statement said.

It also called on the United Nations and the international community to take concrete steps to stop repeated Israeli violations and ensure respect for existing agreements.

The statement came after the Israeli military announced that its forces had killed two people in southern Syria, claiming they had moved “unusually” inside a so‑called “security zone” established by Israel in Syrian territory.

Furthermore, the Israeli forces shelled a Syrian village close to the Golan Heights. Syira's SANA reported that the Israeli artillery targeted Abidin in the western countryside of Deraa province.

The attack comes as the Israeli regime is expanding its acts of aggression across southern Syria.

Following the fall of the Assad government on December 8, 2024, Israel declared the 1974 Disengagement Agreement no longer in effect and moved forces into a buffer zone on the Syrian side of the border.

Since then, the HTS administration has repeatedly said Israel has exploited the country's political turmoil to expand its military presence and conduct additional attacks in areas near the demilitarized zone in southern Syria.
