A Lebanese legislator from Hezbollah’s political wing warned Wednesday that there would be no security for Israeli settlers anywhere in the occupied territories as long as calm and security have not been fully restored to Lebanon.
The warning from Ihab Hamadeh, a prominent member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc in the Lebanese parliament, comes amid ongoing tensions in the region as the Israeli regime keeps bombing southern Lebanon in breach of a ceasefire.
"There is no equation other than the equation of liberation," Hamadeh was quoted as saying. "As long as Lebanese territories are insecure, there will be no security for the Zionists in the northern occupied lands or elsewhere."
Hamadeh also rejected any future border arrangements dictated by Israeli or US leadership.
"We will soon draw our new map — a map that is not in accordance with the whims and desires of Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the occupying Israeli regime, and Donald Trump, the president of the United States," Hamadeh said.
"Just as our map in 2006 was not in accordance with the wishes of the United States and the rhetoric of Condoleezza Rice, the then secretary of state, for the region."
He insisted that southern Lebanon belongs exclusively to its local population and that no external force will be allowed to uproot residents.
"The map of our region and land has been drawn by our children, and the enemy cannot uproot any of our people from their land in southern Lebanon, even if the whole world unites and mobilizes against us," Hamadeh added.
The lawmaker vowed that Hezbollah would continue its campaign of resistance until the "full withdrawal" of Israeli forces from Lebanese soil.
"We are in a position of resistance and confrontation, and we will never rest until the equation of freedom is established," Hamadeh said, praising the sacrifices of the Axis of Resistance.
"The map of the region is drawn only in accordance with the desires of the martyrs, whose blood was shed to protect the entire Muslim world," he said.
