Gaza's wood crisis peaks under Israeli entry ban

A severe wood shortage in Gaza has pushed key local industries to the brink of collapse.

With Israel blocking all wood imports and widespread destruction of agricultural land, sources of raw materials have all but disappeared. The fishing sector is the hardest-hit, with fishermen forced to enter bombed-out buildings to search for scrap wood just to keep their boats afloat.
