The Israeli occupation military has expanded its attacks in southern Lebanon, stepping up air and ground operations across the region.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah carried out missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli military installations and illegal settlements.
Israeli forces have since conducted raids beyond the forward offensive line and north of the Litani River.
The Israeli military says it aims to push "Hezbollah positions" further from the border of the occupied territories.
The escalation on the ground has been accompanied by intensified airstrikes across southern Lebanon, with the Israeli air force reportedly striking more than 100 locations overnight.
At least 17 Lebanese civilians were killed on Tuesday in Israeli air and artillery strikes across southern Lebanon, according to local reports.
The escalation follows an order by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to intensify attacks on what he described as "Hezbollah positions" in the south, amid ongoing Israeli military operations in the area.
In recent months, Hezbollah drones, particularly fibre-optic guided models, have raised concern among Israeli officials due to the difficulty in detecting and intercepting them.
Netanyahu has described the drones as a “major threat” and has called for the development of more effective countermeasures by the Israeli military.
Since March, more than 3,213 people have been killed and 9,737 others wounded in the latest round of Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon.
