The head of Iran's negotiating delegation in the talks with the United States has appointed Esmaeil Baghaei as the official spokesperson for the team.
In a decree on Friday, Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, who is also the head of the negotiating team with the US, appointed Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei as the spokesperson for the "Minab 168" negotiating delegation.
In his decree, Qalibaf described Baghaei as “a revolutionary and specialized figure in international law” with valuable experience in the diplomatic sphere.
He expressed hope that Baghaei’s precision and sense of responsibility would help him succeed in clarifying and determining Iran’s positions to the world, and in addressing the questions of the “noble and brave” Iranian nation.
The Iranian negotiating team has been named “Minab 168” honoring 168 people, mostly schoolchildren, who lost their lives following a US-Israel strike against the Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school in the southern city of Minab on February 28, the day that the two aggressors launched a military aggression against Iran.
