Russian authorities have reportedly detained at least 40 Israeli settlers at Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport over their links to the Israeli regime's unprovoked aggression against Iran.

The individuals were apprehended at the airport following arrival from Tel Aviv, The Times of Israel reported, besides citing a source quoted by Russia's Mediazona outlet that they were interrogated for hours.

The interrogation, the Russian outlet added, was conducted amid suspicion of connection between the individuals and the regime's unlawful attacks on the Islamic Republic that targeted Iranian civilian, government, and military infrastructure from February 28 until April 7.

"Security forces at Domodedovo Airport reportedly stressed to the detainees that Iran is an ally of Russia and that anyone who is an enemy of Iran is 'our enemy as well,'" the Israeli paper wrote.

According to the Russian outlet, the detainees were asked to unlock their mobile phones, and instructed to turn the devices off when they refused to do so.

'Tel Aviv fuming over detentions'

The outlet added that the individuals were released following "intervention" by the Israeli regime's foreign ministry, with Tel Aviv conveying its outrage over the detentions, calling them "completely unacceptable," and saying it views the matter seriously.

Their release was made possible after the detainees signed documents stating the "inadmissibility of violating the law," the report added.

The aggression that the regime began jointly with the United States has unleashed torrents of international criticism amid overwhelming evidence of the aggressors' deliberately targeting civilian sites, including schools, universities, and hospitals, as well as energy and other vital infrastructure.

According to Iran's Legal Medical Organization, the aggression has led to the martyrdom of 3,375 people.
