Iranian FM: US-Israeli desperation exposed in attacks on knowledge and science

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has sharply condemned the US-Israeli regime’s barbaric assaults on Iran’s scientific and educational institutions, dismissing them as acts of desperation that only strengthen the Iranian nation’s resolve to advance knowledge and self-reliance.

In a post on X on Sunday night, Araghchi stated, “Israel and its partner-in-crime believe that knowledge can be bombed away. It’s reflected in the murders of Iran’s scientists and attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites, and now universities.”

“Reality check: your actions ooze of desperation and only inspire more pursuit of knowledge,” he added.

The senior Iranian diplomat’s remarks come amid the ongoing US-Israeli war of aggression, during which they have repeatedly targeted Iranian scientists in cowardly assassinations, struck civilian nuclear facilities in flagrant violation of international law, and now extended their criminal campaign to universities and academic centers.

These attacks reveal the deep-seated enmity of the American-Zionist axis toward Iran’s scientific progress and its right to peaceful technological advancement.

Far from weakening the Islamic Republic, such lawless aggression only fuels greater determination among Iranian youth, researchers, and scientists to pursue knowledge with even greater vigor.

The enemy’s repeated failures to halt Iran’s progress through sanctions, assassinations, and bombings have left it increasingly desperate, resorting to strikes on educational infrastructure in a vain attempt to suppress the Iranian people’s quest for self-sufficiency and strength.

Foreign Minister Araghchi’s message serves as a clear reminder that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains steadfast in the face of the lawless US and Israeli aggression.

No amount of bombs or crimes can erase knowledge or break the will of the Iranian nation that views science and education as pillars of its sovereignty and resistance.
