A young Bahraini man died in custody after being subjected to brutal torture when Al Khalifa regime agents failed to extract false confessions from him regarding Iran, according to local sources.
Sayed Mohammed Al-Mousawi, a resident of Muharraq Island, was arrested last week while passing through a checkpoint with several other young men, according to Bahrain’s Al-Wefaq opposition society. No valid reason was provided for the detention at the time.
Just days later, on Friday, his tortured body was handed over to his family by Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior, according to local sources.
The family had received no news of his condition during the intervening period and was shocked by both the news of his custodial murder and the condition of his body.
Al-Mousawi, who had been married for only two years, was described by neighbors as a respected young man known for his gentle demeanour with no criminal record.
At the time of his arrest, he was accompanied by Sayed Ahmed Al-Mousawi, a young Bahraini eulogist and engineer known for his recitations of Ramadan supplications that have been broadcast on Iranian television channels.

The latter remains in detention, and his fate reportedly remains unknown.
Images of the victim’s tortured body circulating on social media have sparked outrage across Bahrain. Clerics and political opposition figures, including Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, Deputy Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq, have issued strong statements condemning the torture.
On Friday evening, Bahrainis held demonstrations across the country carrying images of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei and martyr Al-Mousawi, declaring that Al-Mousawi is a “martyr of the path of Velayat” (guardianship).
Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior issued a statement claiming that Al-Mousawi had been arrested on charges of espionage and collaboration with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), alleging he had transferred information about vital Bahraini centers and institutions to Iran amid the ongoing Israeli-American war against the Islamic Republic.
The statement claimed the cause of his death was unknown and dismissed circulating images of his body as inaccurate.

Observers and local sources, however, note that the Al Khalifa regime, which has a long history of persecuting Shia Muslims and justice-seekers in Bahrain, has intensified its crackdown since the launch of the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran.
Since the war began, approximately 200 Bahraini citizens, including several women, have been held on unsubstantiated charges of espionage, communication with, or solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran amid the Israeli-US war of aggression.
According to sources, the security and judicial system of the Arab country is attempting to extract false confessions through torture to fabricate espionage scenarios.
The term “solidarity with Iran” has been broadly applied to include mourning the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei, expressing satisfaction at Iran’s retaliatory strikes on US bases, including in Bahrain, or posting related content on social media.
The funeral and burial ceremony for Al-Mousawi turned into demonstrations of rage against the Al Khalifa regime, according to eye-witnesses.
Despite a heavy security presence and crackdown, people in various areas of Bahrain held nightly demonstrations, carrying images of Imam Khamenei and declaring allegiance to the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
