Bahraini police assaults crowds mourning loss of Ayatollah Khamenei

Bahrainis take part in a mourning gathering to pay tribute to the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who was martyred in the US-Israeli aggression against Tehran, Iran, on February 28, 2026.

Bahraini police forces have assaulted demonstrators across the Persian Gulf kingdom, where people were mourning the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in the US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

The mourners condemned the US and Israeli strikes on Iran, and chanted slogans.They carried pictures and placards of the martyred Leader.

The Bahraini forces' assault on the mourners led to confrontations between the two sides.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The Iranian government on Sunday morning declared 40 days of mourning and seven days of public holidays over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei.

The government expressed condolences to the Iranian nation over the tragedy, saying the crime will not go unpunished and will "make a new chapter in the Islamic and Shia history."

Ayatollah Khamenei led Iran and the Muslim Ummah for 37 years since the demise of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in 1989.

The Iranian Armed Forces have responded to the US-Israeli aggression by launching massive missile and drone strikes on the Israeli-occupied territories and US military installations across West Asia.
