Top Pakistani Shia cleric visits Iranian embassy, pays tribute to martyred Leader

Pakistani Shia cleric Seyyed Jawad Naqvi at the Iranian embassy in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Prominent Pakistani Shia cleric Seyyed Jawad Naqvi visited the Iranian embassy in Islamabad on Tuesday to offer condolences over the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in American-Israeli aggression.

He met with Reza Amiri Moghaddam, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, and signed the book of condolences at the embassy.

During the meeting, Naqvi conveyed profound sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and also offered condolences on the loss of civilian lives, including school children martyred in the southern Iranian city of Minab.

Naqvi hailed Ayatollah Khamenei's historic role in guiding the Muslim Ummah, highlighting his steadfastness, resolute stance against oppression, his protection of the system of Wilayat (guardianship of the jurist), and his efforts to promote truth and justice on a global stage.

The two sides also discussed the regional situation, the challenges confronting the Muslim Ummah, Pakistan's role in addressing these issues, and ways to promote mutual solidarity between the two Muslim neighboring countries.

The American-Israeli coalition launched the war of aggression against the Islamic Republic on February 28 with the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei and some top-ranking military commanders and political officials.

In response, Iranian armed forces have carried out 70 waves of retaliatory missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli and American bases and assets in the region.
