Palestinian resistance factions mourn martyrdom of Iran's SNSC chief Ali Larijani
Palestinian resistance movements of Hamas and Islamic Jihad have extended their deep condolences over the assassination of Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani along with his son in an Israeli strike.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Hamas offered its sincere sympathy to the Iranian leadership and people on the martyrdom of Larijani, his son, and a number of his companions, in an Israeli bombing and a flagrant aggression on the Iranian capital, Tehran.
"We renew our solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is being subjected to Zionist-American aggression. We affirm that the continuation of this aggression is a crime that targets the entire region, threatens its security and stability, and the American administration and the fascist occupation government bear the responsibility for its dangerous repercussions," the statement read.
Hamas also mourned the loss of Larijani and all the martyrs who ascended in the brutal Zionist-American aggression.
"We recall with full appreciation his honorable positions in supporting the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of our people. We ask Allah Almighty to cover him with His vast mercy, to inspire his family and brothers with beautiful patience and fortitude, and to protect the brotherly Iranian people from every harm and evil," Hamas stated.
Separately, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement extended its deepest condolences to the Iranian leadership, government and nation on the martyrdom of Larijani, Commander of Basij voluntary forces, Major General Gholamreza Soleimani, and their companions who were assassinated in a treacherous Israeli attack on Tehran.
"We knew the martyr Larijani and his brothers among the martyred commanders as sincere defenders of Palestine and its cause, and steadfast supporters of our people and their resistance, in all forums and by all means and ways," it said in a statement.
The Islamic Jihad noted that the criminal and hateful US-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic will only increase its people's resolve in defending their homeland, freedom, and independence in the face of schemes of plunder and hegemony, and for the rights of the Muslim world, foremost among them the cause of Palestine.
"As we mourn to our Palestinian people and to the peoples of our Arab and Islamic nation this blessed martyrdom, we extend the highest expressions of blessing and condolences to the Iranian people, their leadership, and their fighters, asking Allah to make it a gateway to imminent victory," the Gaza-based resistance group said.
