Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman says US uses residential areas of neighboring countries to launch missile strikes against Iran, jeopardizing regional security.

In a post on his X account on Monday, Esmaeil Baghaei released a video showing American aggressors misusing the territory of a neighboring country to launch a missile attack against Iran.

“To those who insist on ignoring the rationale behind our defensive strikes on the US military bases/assets in the region: Missiles are being launched at Iran from residential areas in the territory of neighboring countries,” he said.

He added that the “US fighters are using the airspace of neighboring states to attack Iran, all putting regional security at risk.”

On February 28, the United States and the Israeli regime started their unprovoked military assault on Iran, assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and top Iranian military commanders.

Iran began to swiftly retaliate against the criminal aggression by launching barrages of missiles and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on the US bases in regional countries.

Iran has repeatedly emphasized that it only targets American positions and bases in the region and does not seek conflict with Arab countries.

However, any location deemed a source of aggression against Iran will be a legitimate target.

‘Real issue is oil’

In another post on his X account on Monday, Baghaei reacted to recent anti-Iran remarks by US Senator Lindsey Graham, noting that the comments revealed the real motive behind Washington’s stance.

Baqaei shared a video on X featuring Graham in an interview with Fox News where he said, “Venezuela and Iran have 31 percent of the world’s oil reserves. We’re gonna have a partnership with 31 percent of the known reserves. This is China’s nightmare. This is a good investment and we should applaud our men and women in military who’re doing something I’ve never seen done before.”

In response, Baghaei said, “Very rare moment of honesty: It’s all about OIL.”
