Dismissing US threats

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps has reacted to the U-S president’s latest threats, saying the military option against Iran has proven to be unsuccessful. The IRGC's spokesman warned that in case of any aggression, the country’s Armed Forces will determine the course of the war through their initiatives. Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini pointed to the psychological war launched by American officials in recent days and their attempt to use bullying and scaremongering tactics. He said resorting to the threat of war and deploying aircraft carriers are components of an old tactic used by American officials. The general noted that after the failure of the 12-day war in June and recent seditious terrorist attacks in Iran, the United States is trying to infuse fear into the Iranian society and people, who have so far foiled all measures against the country. He noted that Iranian Armed Forces are in control of the situation despite the United States’ military threats, and have plans for dealing with any scenario used by the enemy. Naeini stressed that Iran has good experience in defeating its enemies in modern wars, even the most dangerous and sophisticated ones.

Condemning Trump threats

Iran has categorically condemned US President Donald Trump's recent "warmongering statements" against Tehran. The country’s UN ambassador said such remarks exacerbate regional tensions, increase the risk of miscalculation, and pose a direct threat to international peace and security. Amir Saeid Iravani made the comments in a letter to the UN chief and the president of the Security Council. Iran's ambassador called Trump's statements irresponsible, provocative, and clearly contrary to the fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter. He stressed that the threat of force against a sovereign state is a clear violation of the UN Charter, which clearly prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity of any state. Iravani noted that Trump's statements are not unprecedented, and are part of Washington’s policy of pressure, intimidation, and destabilizing actions against Tehran. He emphasized that Iran reaffirms its inherent right to self-defense in accordance with international law, and in the event of any act of aggression, will take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and people. Iravani said the United States will bear fully responsibility for the consequences of any aggression against Iran.

Israel violations in West Bank

Foreign ministers of eleven countries have strongly condemned Israel's demolition of the headquarters of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees in the occupied East al-Quds. The statement was issued by foreign ministers of several European Union members as well as Canada, Japan, and the UK. The foreign ministers noted that Israel’s unprecedented act of aggression against a UN agency marks the regime’s latest unacceptable move to undermine UNRWA’s ability to operate. They urged Israel to abide by its international obligations to ensure the protection and inviolability of UN premises, calling on the Tel Aviv regime to halt all its demolition operations. The foreign ministers reiterated their full support for UNRWA’s services and humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. They also called on Israel to ensure that international nongovernmental organizations can operate in Gaza, including by lifting restrictive registration requirements, reopening of all Gaza crossings, and lifting restrictions on humanitarian aid entry into the territory.
