Iran warning
Iran’s permanent ambassador to the United Nations warns of severe consequences of the United States’ illegal measures against Iran. Amir Saeid Iravani was speaking at a meeting of the Security Council on Monday. The ambassador said the US has repeatedly threatened Iran with military force, openly instigated violence in the country and supported terrorist operations there. He underlined that the US bears full responsibility for its actions and threats, which he said bring serious repercussions. Iravani said the US has engaged in a pattern of illegal actions to undermine the authority of the United Nations and replace it with its own unilateral decisions. He added that those unlawful unilateral measures have eroded the rule of law at the international level and have endangered global peace and security. The Iranian UN envoy said Washington considers itself above the law and seeks peace through force.
Israel Gaza truce violations
Israel’s violations of the Gaza ceasefire continue unabated. At least four Palestinians have lost their lives in fresh strikes in Gaza City’s al-Tuffah neighborhood. Another Palestinian was also killed in the al-Bureij camp.
US anti-ICE protest
The US state of Minnesota has witnessed a fresh protest against the presence of federal agents deployed by the Trump administration. The demonstration took place in the city of Maple Grove, just outside Minneapolis. The protesters gathered outside a hotel housing ICE agents. The rally comes just several days after federal agents shot and killed an American citizen, Alex Pretti, in Minneapolis. The Trump administration defended the shooting, saying Pretti had attacked ICE officers. But a video from the scene shows the targeted man holding a phone in his hand, not a gun. As President Trump continues to push ahead with his immigration policies, a new poll indicates that public support for his measures has plummeted to its lowest level since he took office.
