A senior Hamas official says the resistance movement has fulfilled all its obligations under the Gaza ceasefire agreement after delivering the body of the last Israeli captive in the territory.

Husam Badran said on Monday that all living and deceased Israeli captives have been handed over as per the agreement.

The Hamas official stressed that the delivery of the final captive’s body in Gaza has stripped Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu of all the pretexts he used to delay the implementation of the agreement.

He urged mediators to intensify their efforts and to mount pressure on Israel to implement its side of the agreement fully.

Badran warned that continued Israeli stalling endangers prospects for maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza.

He stressed that the regime must be forced to withdraw its forces from Gaza, allow the entry of humanitarian aid, and open the Rafah crossing in both directions.

Earlier, Hamas issued a statement confirming that the resistance movement has exerted great efforts in searching for the body of the last captive, and provided the mediators with the necessary information first-hand, which contributed to being able to find the body.

The movement emphasizes that this step comes within the context of the resistance's full commitment to the requirements of the first stage of the ceasefire agreement, as it has completed all its obligations clearly and responsibly.

In return, the resistance movement affirmed that Israel must complete the implementation of the ceasefire agreement's terms in full, without detraction or procrastination, and commit to all the obligations resulting from it, especially opening the Rafah crossing in both directions without restrictions, the entry of the Gaza Strip's needs in the required quantities, lifting the ban on any of them, full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and facilitating the work of the National Committee for managing the strip.

Hamas also called on the guarantor countries to shoulder their responsibilities by ensuring the implementation of all obligations stalled by the occupation, after its pretext had ended with the finding of the last prisoner's body.

Israel’s violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement continue unabated, claiming the lives of more Palestinian civilians amid the territory’s worsening humanitarian situation.

Three civilians killed in regime’s latest attacks

Meanwhile, according to local sources, one civilian was killed by occupation forces’ gunfire in the Halawa refugee camp in Jabaliya, northern Gaza City, on Tuesday morning.

Two more Palestinians lost their lives in other Israeli attacks in the al-Bureij refugee camp, in central Gaza, and the al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City.

The new fatalities increased the Palestinian death toll since the enforcement of the agreement to nearly 490.

The Israeli regime’s genocide has claimed the lives of more than 71,600 civilians since October 2023, leaving over 171,400 others injured.

In addition, Gaza’s Civil Defense warned that the territory’s humanitarian situation has reached a critical and unprecedented stage, with the most basic necessities of life completely lacking.

It added that thousands of civilians, particularly children, women, and the sick, are suffering the aftermath of and enduring hardships beyond human endurance.
