'We stand against oppression!': Thousands rally in Kargil against US, Israel 'interference' in Iran

Thousands of people rallied in Kargil on Friday to denounce foreign interference and "anti-Islamic" policies from the US and Israel in Iran.

Footage shows large crowds marching and chanting, with some holding placards in support of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Demonstrators can also be seen stepping on a banner featuring US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"We have come out today in solidarity with the people of Iran and its leadership. We are following the teachings of the Prophet of Islam, which call on us to stand against oppression and support the oppressed," a protester said.

Another protester criticized Washington's growing influence on Tehran's "internal" matters and accused the Trump administration of "disrupting the peace and stability" of the country.

"The world is witnessing how America interferes in the internal affairs of other nations, and its interference in Iran’s internal matters, particularly, is highly condemnable," he said.

"People of this world should understand the ill designs and policies of America, and the time has come to expose the anti-human policies of America," he added.
