Foiling US-Israeli-backed terror

Iran’s Parliament Speaker has said that the Iranian nation overcome the recent foreign-backed riots in the country through its unity and reliance on the guidance of the leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Addressing an open session of the Parliament, Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf said enemy’s defeat in the recent US-Israeli sedition, has made the US President desperate and forced him to react in a fierce and contradictory manner. He said that the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution adopted a stance which prevented any disruption in the country, and infused peace and power into the nation. Qalibaf also noted that, in addition to the sacrifices of Iran’s security and voluntary Basij forces, the mass participation of people in nationwide rallies in support of the Islamic establishment, was of great help in quelling the unrest.

Iran funerals

In Iran, more funeral processions have been held for those who were martyred in recent riots by foreign-backed terrorists in the country. Hundreds of people gathered in the southwestern city of Khorramshahr for the funeral of those martyred in recent violence. Participants also renewed their allegiance to the Islamic Establishment and condemned the acts of terrorism in the country. Over the past days, multiple Iranian cities have been witnessing funeral and burial ceremonies for security personnel and civilians martyred in the riots. Massive rallies have also been held in a number of cities, including the capital Tehran, in condemnation of the acts of vandalism and destabilization of the nation’s security.

Syria ceasefire deal

The HTS-led Syrian government says it has reached a ceasefire deal with the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces or SDF after days of heavy fighting. Under the deal, SDF withdraws its forces from areas west of the Euphrates River, including Deir Az Zor and Raqqa. The agreement will also see SDF units integrate into the Syrian military. The Syrian interim government will also assume full control of border crossings, oil and gas fields. The agreement follows days of intense clashes over strategic positions and oilfields along the Euphrates. A similar deal in March failed to be implemented. The SDF chief is expected to travel to Damascus on Monday, where he will meet head of Syria’s interim government Mohammad al-Jolani for talks.
