US kidnapping of Madura

Iran has once again unequivocally condemned the US kidnapping of Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. Foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, made the comment in a phone call with his Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Vieira. Iran's top diplomat described Washington’s move as a blatant violation of the UN charter and basic rules of international law. He also warned about dangerous consequences of US bullying, saying such unilateral measures gravely endanger international rule of law and normalize the use of force. Brazil’s foreign minister, for his part, condemned US violations of the UN charter, vowing to follow up on this issue through the UN Security Council and regional Latin American organizations. Araghchi also talked to his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Eduardo Rodriguez Parrilla. He urged all governments and the UN to categorically slam Washington’s breaches of international law, which pose a major threat to security of the Caribbean region and the entire Latin America.

Tensions over Greenland

Greenland’s Prime Minister has dismissed fears of an imminent US takeover of the territory following Washington’s abduction of the Venezuelan president and his wife. Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said in a press conference that Greenland cannot be compared to Venezuela, and is not in a situation that would allow overnight takeover of the territory. His remarks came after US president Donald Trump said he wants to take over Greenland, alleging that Washington needs the independent territory for defense. Earlier on Sunday, Denmark's Prime Minister said she has made it very clear where her country stands, and Greenland has repeatedly said that it does not want to be part of the U-S. Mette Frederiksen warned that if the US attacks another NATO country, everything stops. Greenland is not an independent member of NATO, but is covered by Denmark's membership of the military alliance.

Israel West Bank crimes

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has issued a serious warning about the escalation of Israel’s violent attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. According to UNRWA, more than 12-thousand Palestinian children are living in a state of "forced displacement" across the occupied territory. UNRWA said Israel has been conducting a military operation in the northern West Bank since January 2025, which has forced thousands of Palestinians to leave their homes. It added that the operation began in the Jenin refugee camp and later expanded to the Nur Shams and Tulkarm refugee camps. The UN agency noted that thousands of children remain forcibly displaced in the West Bank, and need psychosocial support. Since the start of the Gaza genocide, the regime and its settlers have intensified their crimes across the West Bank, including the killing of Palestinian citizens, demolition of homes and displacement of their owners, and the expansion of settlements.
