Iran’s Zurkhaneh team crowned champions in India World Cup

Iran’s national Zurkhaneh team wins the championship title at the Zurkhaneh Sports & Koshti Pahlavani World Cup 2025 hosted by India.

Iran’s national Zurkhaneh team has claimed the championship title at the Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani World Cup 2025, hosted in India.

The team competition for Zurkhaneh Sports was held on Monday, with Iran scoring the highest at 745 points to secure the top position.

Iraq and Azerbaijan followed with 372 and 364 points, respectively, placing them well behind the champions.

Athletes from seven countries — Iran, Iraq, Belarus, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Uganda, Tanzania, and India — took part in the tournament.

The Koshti Pahlavani contests are scheduled for Tuesday.

According to the website of the Zurkhaneh Sports and Kushti Federation India, the World Cup is described as a “prestigious international event celebrating tradition, strength, and global unity through ancient Persian martial arts and athletic culture.”
